Please arrive early and be ready to “play games” at 6pm (don’t arrive right at 6pm)

When you arrive check-in with the site director/get your scorecards for the night. Don’t take long breaks-you need to be ready to start your next game on time!

RULES  OF  THE  GAME-please announce score after every point!

1st team to 21 points or 12 minutes in length (whichever comes first).

straight up scoring”   that means 3 pt shots are worth 3 points, 2 point shots are worth 2 points and fouled in the act of shooting is worth 1 point plus the ball if it didn’t go in the basket plus another possession—if the shot was made and you were fouled you add 1 point to whatever amount the made basket was worth and it’s the other teams possession!

THERE ARE NO TIE GAMES—if score is tied at end of game each team will choose a player to shoot a free throw until one team makes their free throw while the other team misses their free throw.  Players may only shoot ONE free throw, if both teams players both make/miss, then each team picks a DIFFERENT PLAYER to each shoot a free throw until the tie is broken!

Possessions to start the game-3 point shot from top of key.  Make it/take it or miss it/give it

No timeouts but teams can sub at any deadball—run on/off court please!

ALL jumpballs are awarded to the team playing DEFENSE AT THAT TIME

All PLAYERS may call out of bounds, violations, travels etc.

Players fouled in the act of shooting get 1 point plus ball out at top of key. NO FREE THROWS!

“CALL YOUR OWN FOULS”

DEFENSE-if you foul somebody you should be the first one to call it—RESPECT THE GAME!

AFTER A MADE SHOT ,  VIOLATION, BALL GOING OUT OF BOUNDS (DEAD BALL)

The ball is “CHECKED IN” at the top of the key  above the 3 point line IT’S A LIVE BALL (DRIBBLE, PASS OR SHOOT IT)

EVERYTIME THE BALL IS “CHECKED IN” THE DEFENDER SHOULD STATE THE SCORE!

When the ball is “checked” ALL offensive players should start outside of the key!

AFTER A MISSED SHOT OR STEAL OF THE BALL (LIVE BALL)

If the shooting team gets a rebound they can continue to shoot the ball.

If the defensive team gets the rebound or steals the ball they MUST take the ball back ANYWHERE behind the arc (the player behind the arc must not have any part of their body touching the court inside the arc before they can score) THEY CAN PASS, DRIBBLE OR SHOOT ONCE “TAKEN BACK”

RESPECT THE GAME—IF A GAME GETS OUT OF CONTROL-ASK FOR A COURT MONITOR

The court monitor will then observe the game and may make calls and issue warnings to teams/players and if needed call the game.
