TOURNAMENT  RULES

WE WILL ABIDE BY OHSAA/NATIONAL FEDERATION RULES WITH THE FOLLOWING EXCEPTIONS;

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Games will consist of two 15 minute halves / 3 minute halftimes / 4 minute warmups.   2nd gr. division plays 20 minute running clock halves!    

Site Director has the right to shorten warmups/halftimes if games start running behind schedule

Games may start up to 10 minutes early IF agreed upon by both coaches!

Clock will stop on all whistles except for 2nd grade division (2nd grade division stops on all whistles in the last minute of each half)          

Each team will get three 30 second timeouts per game 

 

 

 

Overtime periods are 2 minutes, with 1-30 second timeout for each team (no carryovers). 3rd overtime=sudden death-1st team to score wins!

There are no one & one free throws / 2 free throws will be awarded on the 10th foul and all fouls afterwards of each half !                                                                               

2nd & 3rd grade divisions may jump over the line on free throws but the shooter CANNOT be the first person to rebound a missed free throw!

Doors will open 30 minutes before the first game of the day-PLEASE DO NOT ARRIVE EARLIER!

 

Only eligible players plus a maximum of three (3) coaches (this includes statistician, ball boys/girls, and/or other staff) may be on the team's bench.

No player is permitted to play on more than 1 team IN THE SAME GRADE/DIVISION

Mercy rule - once a team gets a 15 pt. lead (2nd HALF ONLY) the clock will not stop on whistles (except time outs/injuries)

8th grade boys division and up will use the OHSAA regulation size high school boys basketball

ANY PLAYER, OR FAN,  EJECTED IS DISQUALIFIED FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE TOURNAMENT

Technical fouls will be handled as follows:

 

 

 

 

 

 

                      Coach - Two technical fouls in one game results in a disqualification for the remainder of the game plus the next  game

                      Team -  Coaches are responsible for all members of his/her team - this includes all parents and/or spectators representing their team. 

Any misconduct deemed inappropriate, unacceptable, unsafe and/or abusive may result in a forfeit(s) and/or the dismissal of the entire team—NO REFUNDS!

ALL COACHES must bring proof of grade in the event a protest is filed— NO PROOF=FORFEIT with no refunds!

 

Protests: All official protests must meet the following guidelines:

 

 

 

 

Protests (eiligibility only) must be submitted to the Site Director in writing immediately upon completion of the game.

A $100.00 (cash) fee must accompany the protest. A successful protest will result in the return of the $100 fee / an unsuccessful protest will result in a forfeiture of the $100 fee.  Site directors ruling is final!

 

Daily Admission will be as follows         $8 adults,   $5 seniors,   $3 students,   5 & under = free 

Sites have concession stand fundraisers for the local schools/centers so there will be no outside food/drinks allowed into the buildings!

       A)  point differential  +/- 15 points is the maximum/minimum pt diff. (teams in tie then if still tied all games) allowed to promote good sportsmanship & discourage teams from running up the score. Team with the best pt differential is #1, 2nd best pt. differential is #2, 3rd best pt. differential is #3 etc.   IF STILL TIED point differential in all games played

        B)  if still tied least points allowed  (best defense)
